First stay at a Holliday Inn Express and very impressed with both the facilities and the staff - all were very friendly and helpful. Large bedroom with chair and desk, comfy bed with choice of pillows, plenty of sockets, modern lighting etc. Bathroom with large shower cubicle, Dove products, tissues. Breakfast was good with plenty of choice, bar small but ok. Location great - less than 10 mins from New street Station, 5 mins to canal side bars and restaurants. Can highly recommend.

Stayed here a few times now and a couple of things make me want to select elsewhere in town. Firstly get a low floor so you can take the stairs, there are too few lifts and if the hotel is at full occupancy getting a lift is a lottery around check out/ breakfast…..long, long wait for a lift and full. The other thing which is a show stopper for me, the air con is shocking, for a new build building it is quite unbelievable and totally unacceptable. The hotel is hot even in winter, lord knows what this place will be like in summer as none of the windows open. I stayed in February and on check out complained I could not cool the room and it was too hot to sleep. Was told next time inform reception as they can override the room and cool it…..really ???? Just give me a room with controls that work ! So came back again in April…..again too hot so informed reception who agreed the hotel is ridiculously hot. They agreed to override the room control which reassured me that I had not previously been fobbed off. Went out for the night and came back to a sauna….with workman’s rags on the bedroom floor and the air on panel lifted above the door…..nice work ! I’m sorry IHG you have had me as a platinum in good times and now a gold but for a building a year old this is not acceptable, time to go elsewhere

We stayed overnight as a family of four when visiting Birmingham. Very swift check-in, our room was actually ready early as we discovered when initially just wanting somewhere to store our luggage until 3pm check-in. The room was very clean with a lovely big shower. Breakfast was included, for £56 for 1 night stay was excellent value for money.

Just checked out of this hotel after a brilliant 3 nights. Our room was comfy and spotless. Air con was really effective and easy to control. This is a budget hotel but you would never guess by the room facilities. As well as the usual tea and coffee there was complimentary Dove shampoo and body wash, an iron and ironing board and a hairdryer. Breakfast was great each day. Nothing was too much trouble for any of the staff who were all friendly and professional. A big shout out to Sean. He went out of his way to help us understand how to get to The Donkey Sanctuary in Sutton Coldfield. All in all I would highly recommend this hotel if you are visiting Birmingham. 5 mins walk from New Street Station and the Bullring. And a 2 minute walk to all the lovely buzzing pubs and restaurants on the canal and from there a 2 min walk to Broad Street. Perfect.
